Dungeons & Data is an early access desktop demo for a procedural fantasy campaign engine.

You are not playing one hero on a balanced path. You are building an operational campaign record: scouting unknown country, tracking time, finding settlements and ruins, keeping notes, managing campaign threads, and deciding what uncertain information becomes canon.

The world does not scale to you. The map starts incomplete. Travel is safer when you have already scouted the route. Time pressure matters.

## What You Can Do In This Demo

- Scout a procedural hex map from the village of Landover.

- Switch between Scout mode for unknown country and Travel mode for known routes.

- Discover terrain, settlements, castles, ruins, lairs, and other wilderness features.

- Track a structured campaign log across a calendar view.

- Use the World Ledger for places, threads, NPCs, factions, rumors, notes, and heraldry.

- Roll optional oracle prompts and decide what becomes part of the campaign.

- Create characters and parties, then carry that party into a delve.

- Start dungeon delves from discovered ruins.

- Explore the first pass of a dungeon-local movement, door, automap, time, and wandering monster system.

- Save locally and import/export campaign JSON files.

## What This Is

This is a working prototype and early access demo, not a finished game.

The focus right now is the campaign engine: map knowledge, procedural tables, time, records, delves, and player-authored meaning. It is built for people who enjoy old-school fantasy campaigns, solo/GM tooling, emergent exploration, and impartial table-driven surprises.

## What Is Still Rough

- Windows only for this demo build.

- The app may show an unknown-publisher warning on Windows.

- The app icon is still a placeholder.

- Combat, treasure, full encounter resolution, weather, routes, and expedition resources are not complete yet.

- Some dungeon systems currently record pressure and procedure before full monster/combat play exists.

- There is no guided tutorial yet.

- Save migration is planned carefully, but this is still early access. Export JSON backups if you care about a campaign.

## Saves

The desktop app has a local save for Continue Campaign.

You can also export a campaign JSON file and import it again later. This is the recommended way to back up or share a campaign during early access.

## Feedback I Want Most

If you try the demo, I would especially love to hear:

- Did Scout mode vs Travel mode make sense?

- Did the map feel like an uncertain campaign record?

- Which Ledger tabs were useful, and which were confusing?

- Did Delving feel promising enough to keep building?

- What did you expect to happen that the demo did not support yet?

Thank you for trying this early piece of the campaign engine.
